About Us The Scappoose Parents Association began in 2003 through a local grassroots effort led by parents, educators and volunteers committed to assisting students within the Sauvie Island, Scappoose and Warren communities.
“State funding for Oregon schools simply isn’t sufficient for the education we believe our children deserve,” says founding member and former Scappoose School Board member Candy Cole. “We started this Foundation to provide supplemental funds that we hope will make a noticeable difference in the classroom and the lives of students.”
The Mission of the Scappoose Parents Association is to provide supplemental funding for the students of the Sauvie Island, Scappoose and Warren communities in the Scappoose School District. Grants are be focused on the best interest of students, staff, community members, and Scappoose School District. As a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit organization, the Association works to strengthen the school community through fund-raising activities, events, and grant-writing to generate supplemental funds for the Scappoose School District.
Over the past ten years, the Scappoose Parents Association has donated over $250,000 in school equipment, textbooks, computer technology, and even a Driver’s ED vehicle.
